Team USA’s Joel Embiid Has 2-Word Message For France Fans

Joel Embiid has been the biggest villain of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Starting with his decision to spurn the host country of this year’s games in favor of playing for the American side, and ending with his antagonistic comments towards the French and their basketball fans, he has been the ultimate heel.

This week he decided to pour more gasoline on the fire.

Ahead of Team USA’s gold medal game against France, Embiid revealed that he had a 2-word message for French fans.

That 2-word message? “Suck it.”

“I know myself,” Embiid said.

“I know I’m gonna interact, myself, and I’m gonna enjoy it. They’re gonna boo me. I’m gonna go back at them and tell them to suck it, and so it’s gonna be fun.”

It’s safe to assume that likely won’t endear Embiid to all the French fans that continue to hate him.

The former league MVP was born in Cameroon and granted French citizenship in 2022, but still opted to play for Team USA in the 2024 Olympics.

That said, he has suggested that he will leave the American side for another country in 2028 – barring something changing his mind.

Will Embiid be able to get one over on France a final time on Saturday and claim gold at the Paris Games? An answer one way or another is coming over the next few hours.
