Team USA Recruits New Player For 2028 Olympics In Los Angeles
The 2024 Paris Olympics have just come to an end. Thanks to the efforts of LeBron James and Stephen Curry, Team USA was able to capture a gold medal.
Obviously a bit of controversy surrounds the American side’s win – with some even speculating that their medal might get stripped. But until that happens, they are the world champions.
With the 2024 Olympics over and done, all attention now turns to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles. The next coach of Team USA has been decided, and now it’s time to fill out the roster.
One player, specifically, has been highlighted as a must-have in 2028.
“Paolo Banchero, another member of USA’s last World Cup team, was under serious consideration for the Paris Olympics and is a player [Grant] Hill wants to feature in Olympiads to come,” Joe Vardon wrote in the New York Times this week.
Banchero is a very talented offensive player, but not one Team USA needed in 2024. With Curry, Kevin Durant and Devin Booker – there were enough scorers on the roster.
In 2028, at least three of those guys won’t be participating.
The ‘Avengers’ were able to win gold in Paris. Will Banchero and whatever 2028’s squad is called be able to do the same in four years? Time will tell.
