College Football Referee’s Unexpected Military Gesture Goes Viral

The Cricket Celebration Bowl between Jackson State and South Carolina State on December 14, 2024, featured an unexpected moment of patriotism.

During the first quarter, the head referee paused before announcing a penalty to salute military veterans.

“I’d like to salute our military veterans,” the referee said prior to announcing the penalty.

This gesture earned applause from the audience and quickly spread on social media platforms.

Once the game resumed, Jackson State took an early lead in the game, scoring 14 points against South Carolina State.
