North Carolina Star Omarion Hampton’s Encounter With Woman Goes Viral

North Carolina Star Omarion Hampton's Encounter With Woman Goes Viral

Omarion Hampton, the star running back for the North Carolina Tar Heels, made waves off the field during the Fenway Bowl.

Despite not playing in the game, Hampton’s presence on the sidelines garnered attention for an unexpected reason. A brief video clip captured a woman gazing at him intently during an ESPN cutaway.

The incident quickly gained traction on social media, prompting Hampton to address the situation.

He took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that the woman in question was indeed his girlfriend, putting an end to speculation.

This lighthearted moment provided a distraction from UNC’s disappointing performance in the bowl game, where they suffered a 27-14 loss to UConn.

Omarion Hampton Enters 2025 NFL Draft

North Carolina’s star running back Omarion Hampton has announced his decision to enter the 2025 NFL Draft.

Hampton’s departure marks the end of an exceptional college career that saw him etch his name in UNC’s record books.

Hampton’s final season was particularly impressive:

  • 1,660 rushing yards in 12 games
  • 15 touchdown runs
  • 2,033 all-purpose yards (new UNC single-season record)

His stellar performance placed him second in the nation for rushing yards, trailing only Ashton Jeanty. Hampton’s career total of 3,565 rushing yards ranks fourth all-time in UNC history.

ESPN draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. currently ranks Hampton as the second-best running back prospect for the 2025 NFL Draft. This high ranking suggests Hampton could be an early-round selection.

Hampton’s decision comes as UNC prepares for a new era under incoming head coach Bill Belichick. While Belichick’s arrival generated excitement, it wasn’t enough to keep Hampton in college for another year. The talented running back expressed his long-held dream of playing in the NFL as a key factor in his decision to declare for the draft.
